With M3 Coloring Tools

One installer puts all four under Monolith 3 in the OpenFX panel. They're the same builds the single installers carry. Update any one on its own later.

How does M3 Coloring Tools work?

  1. 01

    Install the package

Quit Resolve and run the Mac or Windows installer. Open Resolve and find all four in the OpenFX panel under Monolith 3.

  2. 02

    Chain them in order

M3 Diffusion first, then M3 Glass, then M3-Film with its lens section off.

  3. 03

    Check on the last node

M3 Balance goes on your last node. Turn it off before you render.

  4. 04

Use only what the shot needs

Each is its own node. A quick grade can use one.

Questions

What's in M3 Coloring Tools?

M3-Film, M3 Glass, M3 Diffusion and M3 Balance. Each is the same build its own installer carries.

In what order do I chain them?

M3 Diffusion first, then M3 Glass, then M3-Film with its lens section off. M3 Balance goes on your last node. Turn it off before you render.

What do I need to run it?

DaVinci Resolve on a Mac with macOS 13 or later, Apple silicon or Intel, or on Windows. We test it in Resolve 21.

Do they run on Windows?

Yes. Your download email has a Mac link and a Windows link. The Windows version is new. If anything looks off, write to info@monolith3.studio.

The installer won't open. What do I do?

It isn't signed, so macOS may block it the first time. Open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway, then open the installer again. On macOS 15 and later, right-click and Open no longer works. On Windows, click More info on the warning, then Run anyway.

Is M3 Coloring Tools made by Blackmagic Design?

No. M3 Coloring Tools is a set of independent OpenFX effects from Monolith 3. DaVinci Resolve is a trademark of Blackmagic Design, which doesn't make or endorse them.
